Mr Ian Chilcott MBBS MRCOG
Ian Chilcott is a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist at The Hillingdon Hospital NHS Trust. His private practice is based at The Portland Hospital in central London.
He qualified from St Mary’s Hospital Medical School in 1993 and has been practising Obstetrics and Gynaecology since 1995.
As well as providing care throughout pregnancy, delivery, and the post natal period to women with both straightforward and complicated pregnancies, Mr Chilcott treats women with a wide variety of gynaecological problems. He has a special interest and specialised skills in keyhole surgery, and is an expert at performing such procedures endometrial resection and laparoscopic hysterectomy.
Hillingdon Hospital is a busy district general hospital where 4200 babies are born each year. Mr Chilcott has a varied workload which includes weekly clinics in general gynaecology, fertility, and an antenatal clinic. He has three gynaecological operating lists per week, and a labour ward session. Practising in a busy NHS hospital enables him to maintain and continue to develop skills in all aspects of care of pregnant and non pregnant women.
Mr Chilcott also:
- Is a Preceptor for laparoscopic and hysteroscopic surgery - recognised as being able to provide training to Specialist Registrars in minimal access gynaecology,
- Is RCOG tutor for Hillingdon Hospital, with overall responsibility for the training of all junior doctors within the department,
- Is the coordinator of Imperial College medical students completing their undergraduate training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Hillingdon and examines the O&G component of final MBBS.
He writes medico legal reports on a wide variety of cases in both Obstetrics and Gynaecology.
